I have been waiting for a package to arrive and although it was posted First Class on 2nd December it arrived this morning the 12th of December. But beating that a parcel posted on 28th October with Royal Mail 2nd Class was delivered with it, thus it took the best part of two months to arrive due to the postal strikes.
So, if you are waiting for Christmas presents to arrive with Royal Mail, you could find them arriving in February due to the strike action.
As a fallback option I think a visit to your nearest Home Bargain will be in order to buy some "emergency" Christmas presents. And you can rest assured that Home Bargains prices will not break the banks.
