LNR launches new state-of-the-art fleet with “The Gift of Comfort” campaign by Anything Is Possible

London Northwestern Railway (LNR) is celebrating the arrival of its brand new fleet of trains via a major multi-channel campaign by Brighton-based creative agency Anything Is Possible, called “The Gift of Comfort”.

The campaign aims to cut through the festive season noise, without having to spend the kind of budget used by the traditional festive advertising powerhouses.

The campaign centres around key screenings of Zootropolis 2 and Wicked: For Good, plus the LNR Family Experience at the Northampton cinema. Each showing will feature a customised version of the iconic Pearl & Dean ident, created in partnership with LNR.

Having invested £1bn on the rollout of 36 new Class 730 trains – state-of-the-art electric trains with 20% more seats than the carriages – LNR’s brief to Anything Is Possible was to let key audiences of commuters and families know about the desirable new transport option available to them for days out and trips to London.

As the trains’ rollout coincided with the retail Christmas advertising onslaught, Anything Is Possible leaned into the season with “The Gift of Comfort” strategy, built on the goals of maximising attention, memory, and emotional connection.

A focus on cinema advertising further leans into the seasonality of the campaign. Not only do movies play a special role in our enjoyment of the season, with many families having an annual movie tradition, but it’s also a blockbuster time of the year for cinema attendance.

According to figures from the Cinema Advertising Association, nearly 15.7 million people went to the movies in December 2024, making it that year’s most successful month. Boxing Day week is historically an especially big time of the year for cinema, with admissions 89% above the average weekly admissions across the whole rest of the year.

It also comes at a time when cinema has seen strong growth. Cinema admissions have seen steady growth since 2020, reaching a total of 126.5 million admissions last year, with 2025 on track to see yet a further uplift.

The choice of films is deliberate, too. Zootopia 2 is aimed at LNR’s family audiences, cementing the positive emotional association between family activities and the Class 730 trains.

Wicked 2, meanwhile, has more of a dual-income-no-kids (DINKs) and group audience, meaning that the ad slot will be seen by a high-intent, culturally-engaged audience. This allows LNR to communicate the comfort and value of the new trains directly to those planning group and weekend leisure journeys.

“This dual-film strategy ensured comprehensive reach across the two most valuable leisure segments,” Laura Donnelly, LNR’s head of sales and marketing, told That's Christmas 365: “leveraging the proven, high-impact attention of the cinema environment to drive long-term memory recall for the LNR brand.”

The special screening follows an activation earlier in the month, which saw LNR and Anything is Possible taking over Milton Keynes station with the installation of a larger-than-life toy model of a Class 730 bursting out of an enormous Christmas gift box on the concourse, plus giveaways for commuters of plush replicas of the new Class 730 trains and theatre trips to London, in collaboration with London Theatre Direct.

The campaign additionally features a Time Out partnership, built around a digital hub promoting affordable festive days out, and targeted VOD placements around Christmas films throughout December.

“Spending time at the movies is one of the most magical parts of the festive season experience, especially if it also involves a trip to the big city,” says Donnelly.

“This campaign beautifully ties the magic of movies at this time of year with the excitement of a train trip, something that’s only magnified by our new Class 730 fleet.”

“With this campaign, we’ve worked hard to reflect LNR’s vision of its new Class 730 fleet being a ‘gift of comfort’ for the 37 million people who use its services every year,” says Sam Fenton-Elstone, CEO and co-founder of Anything Is Possible.

“At Anything is Possible, we believe that magic happens when effectiveness and creativity are brought together in meaningful ways,” he adds. “This campaign is an incredible culmination of this philosophy, and I’m proud of everyone who played a part in it. I’m also grateful to LNR for allowing us to bring this vision to life.”

Give the Gift of Body Respect This Christmas – The Body Happy Organisation Launches Advent Challenge to Tackle Body Shame

As festive excitement builds, the Body Happy Organisation is inviting families, schools, sports groups and community organisations to take part in a brand-new tradition: 24 days of body respect.

This December, the organisation launches its Advent fundraising campaign aimed at shifting the seasonal narrative away from body shame and towards joy, gratitude and celebration.

Research from YouGov shows that more than two in five people feel stressed during the festive period. And body image concerns can play a significant role. Half of children and young people say they are dissatisfied with their bodies, influenced by generational attitudes, social pressures and unrealistic online ideals.

With family gatherings, endless photos and food-focused conversations, Christmas can intensify these pressures.

A New Kind of Advent Calendar

Throughout Advent, the Body Happy Organisation will share a daily “body respect challenge” designed to spark positive conversations, encourage gentle movement and promote kindness towards ourselves and others.

Molly Forbes, Founder of the Body Happy Organisation, told That's Christmas 365: “Christmas should be a time of joy and connection, not comparison and criticism. Our Advent challenge gives families, schools and communities simple, uplifting ways to celebrate what their bodies can do, not what they look like. Small shifts in perspective can have a huge impact on wellbeing, especially for young people.”

Funds raised will support the Body Happy Schools Programme, which is building classroom cultures of body respect to empower children to grow up free from body shame.

Move, Play, Connect — and Fundraise

Participants can take part individually or as a group and either just for fun or as a sponsored challenge. Whether it’s a team sport, a morning walk, a cycle, a swim, a puzzle or a moment of mindfulness, each activity helps promote body respect.

Two enthusiastic supporters, Terri and Allie, are leading the Seas the Season coastal Advent challenge — encouraging daily dips in the sea, rivers, lakes or pools. Each day’s activity corresponds with the date: five minutes on the 5th, a group of six on the 6th, or drawing a 10 via GPS on the 10th.

The Body Happy Organisation also provides plenty of ideas for anyone who prefers to stay dry.

Why It Matters

Beneath the festive sparkle, many people face harmful body-related pressures:

Comments about appearance from relatives

Worrying about how they look in photos

Stress over festive food and outfits

“New year, new me” messages that promote guilt and restriction

Molly Forbes added: “Young people absorb everything adults say about bodies, food and appearance — even when we think they aren’t listening. By changing our conversations, especially at this time of year, we can break the cycle of shame and create a kinder environment for future generations.”

Changing the Narrative

This year, the Body Happy Organisation invites everyone to celebrate connection instead of comparison. By turning Advent into 24 days of body respect, communities can help reshape harmful attitudes and support children to grow up feeling confident and accepted.

Make Yourself 'Flu Proof' This Christmas

There's nothing worse than a bout of flu, especially over the Christmas period.

Flu season comes around every year, and for sufferers, it always feels worse than the last, but what if this year that is actually the case?

A recent study by the BBC labelled 2025 as the 'worst flu season in decades' due to the NHS issuing a "flu jab SOS" urging people to get their flu jab, especially if they are high-risk patients.

While some may think getting the flu is an inevitable fate we all try and avoid during colder months, there are actually steps we can take to ensure the flu stays firmly at bay.

Longevity experts, Charava, have compiled a list of ways to not only avoid flu but maintain a healthy immune system in general during winter.

Why flu in 2025 is hitting the UK hard

Influenza viruses are constantly maturing, meaning different strains develop each year and vaccinations have to be tweaked to ensure the new strain is eliminated effectively. As temperatures started to drop earlier in September in the UK, this has meant that more people are spending time indoors with the heating on and windows shut, creating a perfect breeding ground for the flu virus. With the spread of flu starting earlier this year, people haven't built up immunity, meaning we are being infected at a much faster rate.

Why do we need extra support in winter

Shorter days mean your skin makes less vitamin D from the sunlight, which can lead to us becoming vitamin D deficient. Certain vitamins to take during winter help support your immune function, keeping you from catching the flu or feeling run-down. Nutrients like iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12 help your body make healthy blood cells, which carry oxygen and energy around your body, which can support immunity levels and make a big difference to how you feel during winter months.

6 ways to avoid the flu this winter

1. Get your flu jab now

The flu jab is readily available in the UK, especially to those over 65 or those with existing health conditions. For others, there are options to book at local pharmacies, which may charge for the vaccine but are often inexpensive and worth it for extra protection.

The vaccination essentially exposes you to a small dose of the flu to give your white blood cells a chance to build a defence after understanding what they are fighting against. Once they have been exposed, it means if they come up against this particular strain of virus again, they'll be ready.

This is why it's so important to get the flu jab every year. As influenza strains change and mature, even the flu you have been exposed to in the past will be something different that your white blood cells are not used to. The flu jab gives you a certain level of immunity, but should not be mistaken for a pass on flu during cold months. Other essential steps need to be practised alongside.

2. Ensure you're getting enough sleep

Sleep is and always will be one of the most important things you can do to keep your body healthy, whether you're fighting the flu or any other illness. Often overlooked as a chance to rest, sleep is actually your body's chance to recharge, regenerate and renew.

As nights draw in, people often feel tired and lethargic. This is because our bodies use more energy throughout the day to stay warm and fight off more viruses, but also because during darker nights our brains are ready to switch off earlier. Some people fight this and get tired from lack of sleep, and others give in, going to bed much earlier and perhaps getting up later, again making themselves tired from a lack of sleep routine. It may sound like a lose-lose; however, when it comes to sleep, consistency is key. As well as making sure you listen to your body, if you're tired, let it rest.

Our cells renew as we sleep, and our bodies recharge. This is often why vitamin D is taken during darker days to help our bodies with the immune support, mood and energy we usually get from the sun.

3. Hydrate yourself

Just like sleep; hydration is paramount to ensuring your body is prepared to fight off infection. White blood cells need water to function; if they become dehydrated, they can often shrink, impairing their ability to fight off foreign bodies such as the flu.

Staying hydrated also helps maintain your body temperature. If your temperature drops, it can be harder to fight off illness because your energy is being used to regulate it, which can weaken your immune system and, therefore, increase your susceptibility to viruses.

4. Don't skimp on your vitamins

When the colder months arrive, your body may need extra help to stay strong and active. The best supplements for winter health can support your immune system, boost energy levels, and help your body recover more quickly from tiredness or low mood.

Eating a balanced diet with nutrients and lean protein is important, but it may not always give you everything your body needs. Taking the right winter supplements can help strengthen your immune system, maintain steady energy levels, and support your overall health through the season. One of the best vitamins for this time of year is vitamin D3 paired with K2.

Vitamin D3 helps your body absorb calcium, and Vitamin K2 makes sure that calcium goes to your bones rather than your arteries. This supports immunity, helping you fight off flu, but also stabilises mood to maintain balanced energy levels.

5. Practice good hygiene

While this may sound like an obvious point, you'd be amazed at how much more we need to maintain hygiene levels proactively during the winter. Washing hands, bodies, clothes and surfaces is important to remove living bacteria and viruses as quickly as they spread.

Frequency of washing is more crucial than the length of time you spend washing your hands. For example, it is recommended that you wash your hands for 30 seconds. However, during winter, the most important thing is to clean them regularly to avoid coming into contact with anything that carries the flu virus. On that note, it is also advised to avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes in case germs still linger after washing.

6. Take steps for clean air

While we all would like to stay warm during colder months (which is also important for avoiding illness), ventilation is essential in winter to prevent viruses from being trapped in confined spaces, where they can mutate and spread. Opening a window for just 5-10 minutes per day can help with this, as can using a dehumidifier to remove moisture from the air.

Dust allergens and other particles can also carry bacteria, so maintaining a regular cleaning routine is vital.

Nutritional Therapist, Rachel Evans, told That's Christmas 365: "Vitamin D can help support the barriers of our respiratory tract and our gut lining. As we cant make enough vitamin D here in the UK during the winter months then we can become deficient so supplementing with this vitamin is really important.  It is always good to get your levels tested so that you know your baseline and can supplement accordingly with the right dosage.

"Alongside our gut barrier we have around 70/80% of our immune cells and we also have trillions of microbes living within our gut (I like to think of them like little Tamagotchi’s). When we eat, we aren’t just eating for ourselves, we are also feeding these microbes.

"They thrive on a diet full of variety which helps them to produce various chemicals that do all sorts of useful jobs in our body liking helping to regulate immune cells and keep inflammation in check. When you are putting your meals together think of adding in lots of colourful fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, mushrooms, and fermented foods like kefir and kimchi.

"Polyphenols (plants chemicals found in berries, cocoa, green tea and spices like turmeric) and nutrients like vitamin C (oranges, kiwis, peppers), zinc (pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, oysters), selenium (brazil nuts, eggs, mushrooms) and omega-3 fats (salmon, mackerel, flaxseeds, walnuts) all help to manage inflammation and support the immune system in staying strong and resilient.

"On top of this, consistent and restful sleep, spending time outdoors, exercise, managing stress and keeping hydrated all play a really important part of keeping your immune system strong and healthy during the flu season."

Rudell The Jewellers Celebrates Their Annual Catalogue Launch at the Black Country Living Museum

Rudell The Jewellers marked the launch of their annual catalogue with a spectacular evening hosted The Black Country Living Museum, one of the region’s most treasured landmarks.

Steeped in the industrial heritage that helped shape the West Midlands, the venue offered a meaningful backdrop for Rudells, whose own roots in the Black Country date back to 1938.

The evening began at the entrance to The Black Country Living Museum, where guests gathered in anticipation before boarding a specially arranged vintage-style Black Country bus.

Upon their journey through the museum’s atmospheric streets, the guests were welcomed into the historical Worker’s Institute building, offering a remarkable backdrop to this event.

A striking red carpet awaited the guests at the entrance, but with a unique Rudells twist – it was shaped in the unmistakable form of an “R,” guiding guests from one display to the next. This thoughtful design created an immersive path through the evening, inviting attendees to explore each showcase as though turning the pages of the new catalogue itself.

Inside, the event unfolded as an indulgent celebration of excellence. Guests were treated to a refined selection of culinary creations, alongside a continuous flow of fine champagne and wine.

Alongside beloved brands such as FOPE, Marco Bicego, Georg Jensen, Messika and Chopard, Rudells revealed Doxa and Aera Watches as their newest additions to the watch portfolio. Both brands captivated enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Doxa with its iconic diver’s heritage and Aera with its British-born contemporary design ethos. Guests gathered eagerly around these new introductions, admiring the innovation that each brought to Rudells’ expanding horological offering.

Elsewhere, sparkling displays of fine jewellery invited guests to try on pieces and experience the joy of wearing exceptional jewellery. From the warm glow of Italian gold designs of Marco Bicego to the icy shimmer of diamonds on a Rudells in-house creation, each jewellery piece illuminated the evening in own unique way.

The eagerly awaited annual catalogue was unveiled as the centrepiece of the night with guests leafing through its beautifully designed pages, discovering exciting new collections and the expanding range of luxury watches and jewellery. This year’s edition reflects Rudells’ dedication to evolving with its clientele while honouring the heritage from which the business was built.

Jon Weston, Managing Director of Rudell The Jewellers, shared his delight at the success of the event, telling That's Christmas 365: “Hosting our catalogue launch here in the Black Country Living Museum felt incredibly fitting.

"Our story began in this region, and celebrating amongst such rich local history has made this year’s event especially meaningful. We are proud to honour our heritage while continuing to bring world-class jewellery and timepieces to our clients.”

As the evening drew to a close, guests departed with the newly unveiled catalogue in hand and memories of a celebration that perfectly bridged the past and present.
