But what if this year you find yourself a little bit too strapped for cash to be able to purchase a Christmas hamper? Don't despair! Why not make your very own bespoke Christmas hampers to make a very special, personalised gift for the special person in your life?
Where can you buy hampers or boxes from? Ikea sell them from between £10 to £25. www.ikea.co.uk.
However, my favourite source of hampers and wooden boxes that are eminently suited for a DIY Christmas hamper is The Works.

So, what can you fill them with? Morrisons (for example) stock a range of individual portion preserves and honey, so you can put together a range of them and place them in the hamper with suitable crackers and biscuits, in one of the smaller hampers. Or what about a range of toys? You can even make a hamper for your pet, if you want to.
You can also fill the larger hampers and boxes with miniature wine bottles, full sized wine bottles, a range of real ales or a range of typical Christmas foods including mince pies, stollen, panettone, spiced biscuits, tinned foods, desserts, etc, etc.
The only limit is your imagination and your budget.
