This Christmas, Brighton makers Fur & Forever and The Brighton Beekeeper have brought together thoughtful gifts inspired by animals, nature and the personal stories we treasure.
Fur & Forever creates sterling silver jewellery featuring a small lock of a pet’s fur. Each piece is made by hand in Brighton, giving a ring or pendant a very personal connection to a much-loved companion.
It can celebrate a pet who is still by your side or keep the memory of one who has died close to your heart.
The brands are both run by Brighton maker and beekeeper Jack Lockyer, with Fur & Forever run alongside his wife Mel. Their shared gift selection includes five ideas, from a £9.99 stocking filler to bespoke jewellery.
Sterling silver pet hair ring — from £199
A small lock of fur is arranged in resin within a sterling silver band, then finished by hand. Available in three widths, the ring can be made to reflect the colour and character of the fur supplied, with optional engraving. The recipient will need to provide a small lock of their pet’s fur.
Sterling silver pet hair heart necklace — £189
For someone who would prefer a necklace, this sterling silver heart pendant holds a small amount of pet fur or hair. It comes with an 18-inch Belcher chain; other options include the pendant on its own for £169 or with an 18-inch Snake chain for £199. No ring size is needed.
Nectar & Lime body butter — £29.99
Made in small batches in Brighton, this rich body butter combines shea and cocoa butters with plant oils and beeswax. Fresh lime and sweet orange are balanced by a delicate jasmine note. Warm a small amount between your palms before massaging it into the skin.
Hedgerows & Honey lip balm — £9.99
A handy stocking filler, this balm brings together raspberry, blackberry and honey flavours. Made with cappings beeswax, jojoba and castor oils, shea and cocoa butters, it comes in a resealable tin with its own box.
Nose & Toes nose and paw balm — £14.99
Created by both brands, this fragrance-free balm is made with beeswax, plant butters and oils to condition dry-feeling noses and paw pads. It comes in a black aluminium tin and offers a little festive treat for a dog or cat.
The Brighton Beekeeper uses cappings beeswax, the fresh wax seals bees build over stored honey, collected during the harvest. It is blended with plant oils and butters to make skincare by hand in Brighton.
If you’re choosing personalised jewellery, allow time for the recipient to receive the protective mailing pack and return their pet’s fur. Current production time is 7–10 days after the fur reaches the workshop, plus delivery. Any unused fur is returned with the finished piece.
Both brands also offer gift cards, so recipients can choose their own present. Fur & Forever’s digital cards start at £50 and have no expiry date; The Brighton Beekeeper’s cards can be requested by email.
